KOSUKE KITAJIMA CUP 2017 Highlights

KOSUKE KITAJIMA CUP 2017 (10th Tokyo Metropolitan Swimming Championships) was held at Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Pool. Over 670 swimmers, including National Team representatives for Rio Olympic Games, performed highly competitive and exciting races. On the first day of the meet, Rikako Ikee (Renaissance Kameido), broke the Japanese National Record as well as the National High School Record. In addition, Ippei Watanabe (Waseda University) broke the World Record for 200m breast stroke, adding complement for the lively night.

KOSUKE KITAJIMA CUP, presented to the most outstanding swimmer, was awarded to Ippei Watanabe, who broke the national record, and Rikako Ikee, who broke the Japanese National record, from the Chairman of the event, Kosuke Kitajima.
